Webinar Industries in transition: how can CBAM deliver for people and planet?

At ECODES, a non-profit organization with a long-standing commitment to climate and social justice, we are pleased to invite you to an international dialogue on the social and geopolitical implications of the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).

The online event “Industries in transition: how can CBAM deliver for people and planet?” will take place on May 27 from 15:00 to 16:00 CEST and will bring together voices from industry, public authorities, and civil society, both from within and outside the EU.

CBAM raises important concerns regarding its coherence with the principles of just transition, international solidarity, and equity between regions. Here, we will encourage an open, balanced and forward-looking debate on how CBAM can serve as a catalyst for climate ambition without compromising the principles of just transition and international solidarity. For this reason, we believe it is essential to include the perspectives of social organizations in this discussion, which aims to build bridges and explore policy options that ensure no one is left behind in the climate transition.
